Aging and Disability Services

Effective November, 1, 2012, Easter Seals Wisconsin Aging and Disability Services is no longer accepting referrals for its pro bono estate planning service for the remainder of 2012. Check this page for updates in 2013. See below for resources.

 

Pro Bono Resources:

Individuals seeking pro bono assistance for simple wills, powers of attorney and advance directives should contact:

1.  Milwaukee County senior citizens may call SeniorLAW at 414-278-1222 on the following days:

 Mornings (9:00 – 11:00 a.m.) Mondays & Thursdays & Fridays / Tuesday Afternoons (1:00 – 3:00 p.m.)

2.  Northern Wisconsin residents and Wisconsin Indians may call Wisconsin Judicare:  Wisconsin Judicare, Inc.  (715) 842-1681 / (800) 472-1638

3. Southern Wisconsin residents may call Legal Action of Wisconsin. To find the office serving your area on their website at http://www.legalaction.org/

4.  First responders are eligible for pro bono services through the Wills for Heroes program.  Information on this program can be requested for the State Bar of Wisconsin at (800) 728-7788.

Reduced Fee Services:

Individuals who are able to pay a reduced and or  limited fee for estate planning services should contact the Modest Means panel of the State bar of Wisconsin:  1-888-529-7599

Individuals may also contact their local bar association of the county of their residence (contact information should be available at the county courthouse) as many counties in Wisconsin have volunteer attorney projects that provide pro bono and reduced fee services for basic estate planning documents.
